It's great to be here!

Not sure where to put this post but as it contains some images I'll put it in this one.

These pictures are nothing special but they represent a new beginning for me (and my family), why? well at 58 years old, pretty active, not over weight, not a couch potato, not one to get stressed (or so I think) I've had a heart attack

The amazing thing is our wonderful (but much maligned) NHS took great care of me from the first minute I called NHS 24 and managed to fix it (took and hour) and given me a second chance.

What caused it, mostly smoking 35 years of personal and a lifetime of secondary, why do we let this carry on!!! 300 people a day in the UK die from smoking related diseases, that's a plane crash every day

Anyway, it's good to be here

First day back out, K3 with Sigma 70-200 f2.8 APO.

The first two are of the worlds tallest and most powerful wind turbine link that has just been erected 50 yards offshore from my location, both taken through a dirty car window travel t 35mph.

It's good to hear that you are back on your feet Brian

I agree the NHS only get negative press as such - I for one would almost certainly of been worm food around 10 years ago without them so they have a big thumbs up from me

Enjoy your camera/ life etc - there is nothing like a health issue to make you appreciate what you have

Thanks for posting this Brian - it resonates with me quite a lot. My Dad had his first heart attack at 48 (the age I am now) and this has had a huge influence on the way I try to live my life.

Also, my Brother (49) was almost lost to us two weeks ago when he had a massive diabetic episode (previously un-diagnosed, but we have since found out he knew he was very ill 5 weeks earlier and did not get it seen to) which resulted in him being unconscious for 15 hours and close to death on his kitchen floor before he was luckily found (he lives alone). His blood sugar levels were the highest that the intensive care unit at Doncaster Royal Infirmary had ever recorded.

It's great hear you are on the road to recovery and out taking photos again. The last one is my favourite

Glad to hear you are recovering well - I had a heart attack just over 4 years ago...I blame the fags too and haven't had one since.
BTW the flash is great
