ISTDs and AF360FGZ in wireless mode

That's a good question, I'm baffled too - I have the exact same instructions for my *istDL.
I don't have an AF360 anyway but I wonder if the manual for your gun gives you a clue?
Actually, I think the instructions above are for when you want to use two AF360s - one remotely and the other mounted on the camera.
The manual states that wireless operation is not available for the built-in flash but the AF360 can be fired remotely by the RTF when using the 35mm *ist,

You're spot-on, Kimbo.
The *ist D is able to trigger a remote 360 using its RTF (built-in flash), but the *ist DS isn't.
One of many reasons why the D is the more useful camera.

As George said, only the *ist-D can use a single AF360 in wireless mode.
For the *ist-Ds & -DL you need two AF360's - one on camera (as the master) and the second as wireless slave.
Hope that clears the misunderstanding.

Yes, I had to read through that section of the manual a couple of times before I figured it out and then confirmed it by referring to the *ist / *istD manuals.
A useful feature it may be, to those with deep pockets but rather than fork out for two AF360s, I'll settle for reflectors and cheap auxillary guns and slave units
Anyhow, my DL's got a much better screen than the one on the D, so there ner!

Another tip, Kimbo, is to download your pics to a pc, and view them there. Even on the DS, the LCD screen doesn't really do the pictures justice, I find.

1. Place the AF360FGZ at the desired location.
2. Set the AF360FGZ power switch to [WIRELESS]
3. Set the AF360FGZ wireless mode to S (Slave).
4. Turn the camera mode dial and set the exposure mode to P, Tv, Av or M mode.
5. Set the AF360FGZ power switch on the camera to [WIRELESS]
6. Set the AF360FGZ mode on the camera to M (Master) or C (Control).
1-4 are no problem. I am baffled by 5 and 6 though. "AF360FGZ power switch on the camera", "AF360FGZ mode on the camera". What's that all about? I can't find those options on my camera. How do does the user put this camera in wireless mode?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Jesse
