Hello all,

I have been trawling the internet for hours with the following problem… hopefully someone here can help. I purchased a istD L2 digital SLR camera about 4 years ago and it has been fantastic. Unfortunately it no longer powers up even with freshly charged/brand new batteries. I just get the flashing empty battery icon. Is there an internal battery that needs to be replaced? I gave the contacts a good blast of air to clean but to no avail. My wife is due to give birth in 2 months and I desperately want it up and running for when the baby arrives. Any help would be really appreciated.

thanks

Sci, welcome to the forum.

As a starting point I would try cleaning the camera's battery contacts with something more substantial than air - possibly a cotton bud moistened with a drop of alcohol or electrical contact cleaner - I'm fairly sure that someone else on here will confirm that this procedure is safe - or otherwise.

Edit,

oops, seems you tried it whilst I was typing this
