i am trying to use my old smc lenses (particularily an M 80-200 zoom telephoto) on my istDL2 digital body but all images come out with a blue shift,is it something in the camera set up I am doing wrong or is it unavoidable?

By a blue shift do you mean an overall blue colour cast?

If so, check the WB setting isn't on Tungsten and reset it to either Daylight or Cloudy. Cloudy if you want warmer pictures.

This assumes you are shooting in JPEG.

John, that can also be a problem with RAW, at least my software doesn't automaticly change the WB when importing them.
Well you can set it that way but it isn't on by standard.
