Ist*DS Battery Problem

Hello!
I´ve got an ist*DS SLR which is nearly new. I switched it on today and the battery symbol was blinking. Yesterday it was 3/4 full!!!
As I turned it on with some new batteries (right batteries correctly inserted) the symbol was still flashing!
Can anybody help me??

What kind of batteries are you using? I found that the ones that came with the camera didn't fit into the camera so I used rechargeable AAs from the beginning. Never had a problem with that.
