Wouldn't it be easier to just buy the Pentax remote? its only around £18 and mine fires my K10D, istD and MZ7, plus it fits in my camera bag a lot easier than any of my TV, VCR or DVD remotes

But what is the fun of that?
It's just like one of the ancient Kodak digicam's which had the possibility to run the game DOOM on it...

It's when another photographer sees you open up the battery grip and produce your remote...

Dan
K-3, a macro lens and a DA*300mm...

Very cool - and even cooler (IMHO), while digger around related things on the web I found CHDK (http://scratchpad.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK) - a hack for C***n DIGIC II based cameras that enables raw mode, live histogram, live over/under exposed indications, *scripting* and a whole host of other stuff.

I have an A620 sitting on my desk here just waiting for me to have time to give it its dose of steroids...

If you have a Palm, this may help,

http://ok1000.blogspot.com/2006/04/pentax-ir-remote-from-your-palm-device.html

If you have a Palm Tungsten, the IR beam is quite strong, and I have been able to fire the DS and the K10 from more than 40 feet.
Thanks for that, just tried it with my Palm T3 - works good!

I just tried firing my k10d with the remote for my sony stereo (LBT-Xb50). The "flash" button on the remote fired it.

Also, the Playstation2 DVD remote control works, if you press the "display" button.

Currently trying to work out if I can my phone to do it!

I once found my camera remote kept switching the TV on. Very irritating.
