Just kidding but it would only be effective if the noise isn't that bad though or else it's just a gimmick really, a number to draw attention to the camera.

Agreed, Also the AF would need to be improved dramatically to work at the kind of light levels the is optimised for. Manual focus would be difficult in the extreme.
But as the article stated they would not go ahead unless the noise was at least within acceptable limits.
