is this sensor stain?

You won't see the stains at f5.6. You will need to be shooting at at least f11 or more. To test for it set for a 1 sec exposure at f16 and point the camera at a white wall ... the stain should be obvious if it's there. I'd guess that is dust you see on yours - blow your sensor !
Really nice shot by the way !

I've seen dust at F4 .
Do a proper test on it. Clean the sensor, then do as Frogfish says.

o.k cleaned sensor with my arctic visible dust sensor cleaner
still marks and look even more like sensor staining to me

have also just done a dust alert test via the camera where it shows a white screen so you can see dust specks and there aren't any so does this mean it is definitely sensor staining:

Looks too big to be sensor stains IMHO.
I'm not surprised to see it at f5.6. I regularly notice dust at f2.8, more so with WA lenses though.

You want the type 2 Eclipse wet cleaner.
I really wouldn't bother though .. if it was me I would just return it.
I'm sure if it's just dust (don't think for one moment it is) then Chris will just give it a clean himself.
Bit worrying it's one of the supposedly checked ones though.

I agree with Mike!....it's not worth the hassle or expence of cleaning it yourself!.....on the bottom stain I can see 6 spots!...thats not dust!

Just uploaded the image below onto my gallery taken with the 55-300 and 1.4 convertor, but then i noticed marks which i first thought were dust bunnies on the middle lhs (and only f5.6) but am afraid they resemble those sensor stains..what do fellow members think
