Is this a lie and why?

Cheers Ken: that was the best laugh I'd had all day Thats a bit cryptic, which thread are you referring to?
Was your choice of 'cryptic' unintentional or, as I'd like to believe, deliberate and intended to amuse whilst impressing on the reader your quick wittedness and grasp of the subtleties and nuances of our language?
More of the same, please

Always nice to be appreciated!

Sorry guys (& gals) I didn't get to Lichfield today, so unless Walkeja has an answer, I for one will remain in the dark.
I do recall that the hugh East window has recently been replaced by plain glass so there is considerable light eminating from that direction (for a change), and as the picture appears to be taken across the choir it might be that (but I can't decide whether the pic was taken facing south or as I suspect north)
regards
Bernard

Ken,
I'm mystifid by your last comment.
I know it's Lichfield Cathedral, but I thought we were pondering the reason for the aberrant lighting.
Having recalled the fact that the great East window is out for cleaning and is currently replaced with clear glass my comment was asking if Walkeja already had a definitive answer or was it likely to be stray light from this window.
I had planned a visit to Lichfield last week but was unable to go, hence my post

Bernard, the post has nothing whatsoever to do with the location or lighting but instead a riposte to a comment of John's in another thread.

Ken, That's as maybe. I recall the discussion about the Starship Enterprise, but I'm still bemused by the lighting effect in the cathdral.
I appreciate this is showing up my ignorance of what might have a logical explanation, and I'm sorry to belabour the point.
I also recall Walkeja's "puzzle" set about a red amarylis flower, for which he eventaully had to explain the meaning, and was following the same path.

Bernard its so much simpler (or is it?), as part of a discussion on the truth and reality of photography the OP posted this image as a riposte to a remark of John's taken out of context and disingenuously that 'all photographs were lies'.
It would have been so much more straightforward if it had been posted in the original thread but we were all intrigued for a while

OK Ken,
It's me thinking only in black & white
I was looking for an actual reason for the stray light, the banter/riposte was a sidetrack to my thoughts.
As they say, there are no stupid questions, but maybe I've got close

It is Lichfield Cathedral
I'll be in Lichfield Wednesday next week so if I get time I'll pop in.
Unless, of course, the conundrum is worked out or revealed.
