Is this a good deal?

I have the chance of getting something tonight and wondered if people had thoughts about what the person is asking for. Here is what they are selling:

Pentax MX, 50mm 1.7, 40mm 2.8 pancake, 28mm 2.8 (lenses all Pentax M)
£50

I am after the 40mm and 28mm particularly and figure the MX and 50mm lens may sell for coming close to £50 on ebay so I'll have 2 new lenses for very little.

They are also selling a Pentax 100mm 2.8 M lens and asking for £60. Is that a good price, tempted to offer £100 for the lot.

I'd happily buy that lot for £100 - go for it!

Are these eBay auctions? If so, be prepared for the bidding to go up a lot in the last few mins/secs.

Yes £60 is a good price for an M 100mm f2.8. It's a very good lens and not too common.

no these are a local ad so thats the price, or possibly lower if I bargain. thanks for the advice. Hefty giving it the thumbs up has me more than a bit convinced. Hopefully its worth the hours drive and they are all in good condition.

If you get them try the MX out, you may want to keep it.

....and the problem is?

The 40mm pancake alone sells for an average of 60 quid on ebay. The 50mm f/1.7 averages at 27, the 28mm at 28, the 100mm at 52 quid and MXs are highly variable according to what they come with but around about 70 quid. A hundred, or even 110, would be a bargain.

BTW, keep the MX, you'll love it....

I reckon I could turn that lot into £200 on eBay without too much effort - probably a bit more than that these days (with the weak £). For £100 it's a no-brainer; buy the lot, keep the bits you want and flog what's left for more (hopefully) than you paid for all of it.

these were from Durham. very well looked after kit as far as I can tell.

Looks like you got yourself a nice bargain. The hard bit now will be deciding which bits you can bear to part with to make it all pay for itself...

Still, there's no rush. Give the lenses each a run-out on your K10D and see which ones suit you best.
