He seems to have a good supply of second hand 85 f1.4 !
To be fair to him John, he does say in the listing there are "quite a few" cosmetic marks on the lens, and very detailed pictures are available.

I think modern finishes are much better in this regards.
That's fair enough. I've seen a few Pentax silver finish lenses from the same era and they don't look that great after reasonably hard use.

It was gorgeous, but at the time I didn't have the cash with me and it was cash or nothing. That's the way it goes.

I've seen a few Pentax silver finish lenses from the same era and they don't look that great after reasonably hard use.
My FA*24 (that I sold to another member here) had had nothing but gentle & careful use, but there were a lot of wear marks on the hood and body.
Most of these appeared to be from rubbing against the inside of my camera bag - the finish couldn't even cope with that
