Certainly is - wonder if any of my Australian cousins will be visiting the UK soon! - at today's exchange rate - the K3 is £840 in Oz - a massive £360 cheaper than the UK!!!

Since it seems to indicate that this price is for the body only, I reckon it would be worthwhile getting one shipped over on courier service. TNT (now owned by, I think, GD Net aka Dutch postal service) are a recognised Australian carrier, and taking into account the shipping costs (I expect the package to weigh not more than 1.0kg), plus the VAT payment (camera bodies are duty-exempt), and a customs handling/clearance fee, I reckon you would still shave the best part of £100 off the UK price.

Wonder what the prices are like in the East - I can get one brought from Phuket or Dubai in December

Personally I'd have to save a lot more than that to forego the security of buying from a trusted UK retailer.

And the warranty.

I am heading back to family at Christmas and will be picking one up while I am there (provided no issues like the wonky level or sensor stain issues emerge - i feel confident they will not). I think I will have enough time to work out if it is duff before I come back and then anything unexpected can be dealt with by return. If my current camera had ever gone fizz while I was out there I would have no hesitation in replacing it locally unless the local price was OTT. You also have to factor in that I will be getting to use it there and I will be claiming the GST (£80) back as well. Even though I expect Ricoh to continue the trend of keeping prices inflated for as long as possible, it will cost me around £720 in comparison to as near to £1100. I'm willing to take the risk

I should point out that this saving is probably going to be absorbed pretty quickly in more gear! If this WiFi card is any good for liveview then I will have to splurge on an iphone or android phone unless they develop a way for my Windows phone to talk to it. Snakes, Ladders!

It would be nice to think they would develop an app for Windows phones wouldn't it?

I'm not planning on buying the K-3, but if I was I couldn't then fork out even more dosh on a phone I don't want or need, just to use with it.

I have a windows phone and wanted to use my eyefi card whilst shooting in the club. I bought an android phone and boy what utter junk. Its like going back to the stone age. Unresponsive, jittery scrolling. Thankfully my son who works in var phone warehouse found me a cheap iPhone 4 which works a treat with the eyefi card. I still lovemy windows phone though.

Yes, I got given a Galaxy 3 and gave it back to buy my own Nokia Windows phone. But then if the liveview works properly with a Galaxy or an iphone, I think I could live with it. I am getting used to overturning long held values and beliefs - after all I have just bought my first pair of M&S jeans, how naff is that!

I'm sure i read somewhere the flucard works in a browser rather than an app..

I wonder if the flu is contagious and if a firmware update will allow it to work in other models?
I suspect the sd card reader hardware in older cameras would not be fast enough to support all features... but I can't help but wonder if some features would still work?

But the UK price drops by at least £85 if you give up your old camera to SRS for example, and I for one have got several of them (if only they'd take more than one!)

So I'm another who wouldn't do the Australia import thing.
