On the evidence offered, I would dispute your assertion that it was an "idle afternoon".
Great photos; I specially like the bees. I had some black wild bees hovering around me yesterday as I cut back some ivy from a wall. I think they were gathering from the remains of the ivy flowers.

Thanks all for your kind comments, it is a very small garden next to countryside , no insecticide nor weed killer so plenty of interest from insects and other occasional visitors which I am documenting as an informal long term project.
