Very nice, certainly gives them a different look with the sun on them like that.

Were you down on the beach?

Yes Mike - down on the beach, almost immediately below the 'control tower'.

At times I wished I had been higher up

You were directly below me then.

I was standing by the entrance to the cable car just below the "control tower". Shame there was no Vulcan or F-16/15s/Tornado etc though.

A very stunning shot and a very stunning recognisation of the skills of this team. Now sadly missing one of its finest.

He will be missed, and we all should pay him the finest tribute we can - admiration of his, and their skills!

Lets see them flying again asap so his colleagues can also pay him the finest honour they can - doing what they do better than the whole of the rest of the worlds pilots!

What a great photograph and as some others have said a fitting tribute.

I remember as a boy the Red Arrows doing a display right over my house in Birmingham (I lived right near to Birmingham Airport). We had a loft conversion and I stood in the window watching them- they went right over the house and it shook.

One of my most vivid childhood memories.

I agree - another superb pic of the team. The lighting is great and I do like the vortices streaming from the wingtips. Great stuff
