Improving my Macro Technique

First foray into live macro, a vivid blue flowering bush in the garden buzzing with bees collecting nectar.

All 645z handheld with 2 x stacked Cactus triggers, a Sigma ringflash, 1 x extension tube with a 150mm F2.8 lens - ISO 800 - 1/250 sec - F8

A great start! Especially the 4th image. You've managed to control the lighting really well IMO.

Cor. Blast the little perishers with flashguns ! It works too. The detail is just great.
However, I presume with all that kit you are restricted to just the one flower that it's all pointing at?
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Surprisingly not David, those are all abour 40% crops, I'm fortunate that i do have pixels i can waste.

I dont no much about macro shooting.. But im impressed with the images..... Well done...!!

Thanks Stuart, its a subject I've not done much with either, up until recently, I've been inspired by Derek's images and though I'd have a go, its early days for me at the mo.

Here's another one from yesterday, I like the dropping petal, which I didn't notice at the time of shooting

Superb set of images Chris - even at this relatively small size the sharpness and quality really shines through
