Thanks Barrie, spot on with that. Although I have absolutely no idea how the menu changed. Could be operator error with a touch of "I don`t remember changing that."
Not a good day on the tech front I posted the original from my phone and picked up your info but despite trying haf a dozen times it wouldn`t connect. Just don`t want you to think I dind`t appreciate your efforts. Was getting a bit bothered yesterday with this issue but had a stroll around Whitlingham Broad this morning and all is well. Just a shame we will have to return to Titchwell and Snettisham

No problem Cedric. I think the unintentional changes are more frequent with my K3 than they are on the K5. Just comparing the two bodies the K3 buttons seem larger and knobbier. Wonder if that has anything to do with it?

Aha, a kind way of saying "Fat finger syndome."
I could understand if it was next to the single shot selector as I only seem to use single or multi. Shame in a way to have it sorted as Mrs Cedric agreed to a visit to WEX for another card. She knows how much I hate going there or to SRS.

You could well be right on that score Barrie. I have noticed the flash menu open a couple of times, I suppose then it`s easy to adjust unintentionally. Must keep an eye on this phenomenon. I wasn`t thinking clearly either with a dose of man flu developing. Once the battery is charged again I will have an intentional operating of the menu buttons to see what happens. I had been using a hand grip which allowed easy access to the buttons and therein lies a probability.

The white balance menu had also changedto K which is really wierd as it`s returned to daylight if I set it to awb. I can`t see how I could have accidentally altered either of these menus. In a way the video selector helps to shield the 4 way select buttons from accidental presses.
Just plain odd

I think the design of the K3 buttons make it easier for accidental operation. They are "nobbly", 11.5 mm long and protrude about 1.5mm. Compared to the K5 lls, smooth, 9mm long and protrude about 0.6mm

Hi Barrie
I agree that the buttons are knoblier and more protruding than the K51s but I can`t see how the alterations were made. I`ve had the K3 since last April and it`s not happened before. Will keep a closer eye on things at startup from now on instead of grabbing and going

It is always happening with me. I tend to use a sling strap to carry my camera so it may be subject to more movement, perhaps that's a factor.

Iv`e just gone back to using a neckstrap for that very reason. Well, just in case as it`s easy to push a thumb against a button or 2.

Aha! got to the bottom of the issue today. Strolling around Minsmere with the same coat as when at Titchwell where the issue of altered menu items started.
K3 dangling round neck and it clatters back on me after a small stumble and sure enough one of the stud fasteners pushed one of the menu buttons. If it had gone unoticed and hit it again the menu would have altered.

How are you going to remedy that one then?

Hi Barrie, longer strap or new coat. I`m just so glad that it wasn`t me forgetting that I had made a change
