A hand held at 135mm f/2.8, ISO 4000 (70-200mm) on the K-1.

Huge queue to get into the abbey grounds so I took a shot from outside. No doubt there will soon be some excellent shots on-line taken inside the grounds from tripods.

Had a great day out at Whitby, met lot's of people and just chilled into the mood of the event.

Best regards

I like it. It seems like a great event. I will aim to make one of the weekends next year. For those that don't live locally (ie. me) would you suggest staying in Whitby, or somewhere outside?

I remember those days well

Whitby does get booked up pretty quickly with most regular goers booking their rooms for the following year as they leave, Scarborough is OK but you'd need to allow yourself an hour for traveling up the coast and getting parked, the latter not as bad as it used to be with the park and ride in operation.

A dramatic sight, it must have raised plenty of oohs and ahhs as people first saw it. The colours are really powerful and deep in tone. I'm surprised to see a fair bit of noise on the black surrounds, I thought perhaps the K1 wouldn't produce so much at an ISO such as 4000 ..... but it is pitch black I suppose, and a fairly simple job to clean it up.
