LOL!.. When I saw the headline, I was going to suggest you sought an immediate psychiatric evaluation followed by a wee "holiday" in Broadmoor!! That said - couldn't you have opted for a RICOH printer, thus remaining "brand-loyal"??

As far as papers go it depends on the image and personal taste. I use Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl 285 gsm and Fujifilm Fine Art Photo Rag 300gsm

Yup, that was a big help in the decision process (our camera club chairman having worked at Canon for 13 years had nothing to do with it, honest :wink.
But of course it does help that our first job was printing off her RPS Panel!

A real nice thing, this is one of our 5m wide babys I would tell you all the cost of ink for it but I doubt anyone would believe Me!

You've cheered me up somewhat. Baulking at the cost of the 6 inks in my MG6300 I bought some pattern jobbies from an Amazon seller. Mainly because my wife uses all the ink printing emails and stuff to entertain the kids Anyway, they work but not for photos, yuk. Feel better about the £60 I have to pay after reading this thread.

Our new iPF6450 printer arrived this week and has given us a whole lot more to learn!
12x inks at up to 300ml each is a bit of a leap from what I had many years ago but those are the joys of Fine Art printing I suppose!
So, to the help needed part, those of you that do Fine Art prints or have ordered them, which of the high end papers do you prefer and why? I'm still getting my head round the fact that different papers have different dynamic ranges!
