I'm sure lenses improve with use and time

I's amazing how my DA*60-250 has improved by making it practice until it starts to know what it's doing

Here is one of the pics taken this morning before the rain. Monopod, 250mm ISO 800, f14. This is a crop of about 50% of the full picture. I have done everything I can in Lightroom and Elements to make it look as good as possinle.

The monopod seems to have paid off too Greg, as the image is sharp and well-focussed.

The plant looks like an Acacia - what is the bird? You might have capturd an additional element - a flying insect to our left of the bird's head?

Thanks, I don't often post pics but I was thrilled with this one and had to share. I used f14 as the K5 is not finaly setup for back/front focus and seeing as it's going back it's a waste of time to finalise the settings.

i-Berg, the bird is a Masked Weaver and it built it's nest in an Australian Tree Fern. These birds strip away any leaves in the vicinity of their nests, leaving only bare branches. The bee was extra, no charge.

My Bigma was hopeless when I first got it, even now it falls by the wayside occasionally, I have come to the conclusion it suffers from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) it gets depressed on miserable days and cant be bothered performing very well

I hope that with some rigorous training my Pentax-A 80-200mm can get up to the standard of your DA 60-250, Greg

Thanks again, here is a crop of the bird only as the size limitation of the forum does not let one post at the best resolution.

Thanks Gareth I take your point.

A happy poster

What I like most, apart from the lovely colours, is that the sharpness is just where you'd want in and the background beautifully blurred. What a lens!
Best wishes,
