hi there everyone thought i would join up having just got myself my first ever slr a white yes white pentax k30 with 18-55mm wr and a sigma 70-300 dg macro zoom thingy.

ok first question a tripod is needed im fairly competant but a newbie so nothing to complicated. plus i'll be doing a few airshows this year so something that'll stand up to the elements well but not cripple me in weight.
any suggestion as there are so many on the market.

p.s getting into macro to. aint gorillapods great lol

Hello and Welcome

I will let others advise on the tripod as my set up is at either end of the scale being a very light and flimsy vanguard and a somewhat heavy but steady Uniloc 1700 (Benbo type)

Perhaps a monopod could be useful - I can recommend the Manfrotto 681B

Cheers

Hello and Welcome to the Forum!

Redsanpper are very good value, but you could think about a monopod too?
