Finally its arrived, wish it would stop raining now so I can give it a go...

I was the lucky winner of the auction on Sunday night. When this lens was last sold on ebay I was outbid at the last moment and have been kicking myself ever since...

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

For the uninitiated, can you please let us in on the secret. I can see it is a big lens but is it a 300 f2.8 of a 400 f4?

Its a 400, it says it on the brass plate, anyway size doesn't matter... apparently.

Looking forward to seeing some results

I need the 400mm for arena shows which are being shot from the back rather than the pit, so won't be carrying it around all day like I would the 80-200mm at a festival for example.

400mm f4 ... that was a good buy Gary, especially as it came with a PKA adapter.

Shame you didn't keep the 1.7x .. that would have been interesting
