Entered these in my club competition "3 Images on a Theme" my theme being Alnwick Gardens.

C & C please

1. The Pergola

2. The Treehouse

3. The Fountain

They were displayed in a horizontal row as numbered here and probably look better on paper than screen. Came in Second Place so quite pleased

Well done on second place! This first is very nice - wouldn't change a thing. Lovely perspective. I do have some constructive C&C on the other two though - I wonder whether your other camera club members will have mentioned the same points?

Shot 2 - I find the colours over warm and saturated, and the tree house has a bit of a lean to it... is it optimally placed in the shot for the best composition?

Shot 3 - A nice idea but the section of wall on the right detracts from the composition for me - I think a shooting position slightly to your left, and avoiding including the wall, would have been better! I do like the diagonal of the fountains across the shot though, and the position of the clipped ball at the end of the hedge is ideal as the fountains 'lead' up to it.

Thanks for the good comments especially No1.

Shot 2 is definitely over cooked I forgot which image exactly I'd printed out and I will have to be more organised the club likes to hold on to the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd photos for display at other events so was just guessing which one it was. Will have to do a "search". I think the treehouse is buit out of plumb as a sort of "House that Jack built" or should that be "jerry" built.

Shot 3. Moving to the left is likely to get you wet as there are three forward facing arcing water jets that come on at random times, I found this out the hard way but at least I was facing away, crouched over my camera so didn't get to test the WR of it, had a tamron 10-24mm on at the time not WR

Looking forward to returning there next year, mid week, when the schools are open for some more mis-adventures

Well, taking a shot only takes a second, and if your derriere was already soaking, I would have thought it would have been worth risking another impromptu 'colonic irrigation'

(After all, people pay good money for that sort of thing!)

My point about moving left (slightly) was because the wall is distracting, but cropping it out would unbalance other things from this angle, such as that big shrub.

I knew as soon as the finger went into my bottom I just had to change dentists

I know what you mean about the bit of wall. It has great curves too but it's getting into position to include it or excluding it, then out again without falling over kids can be a problem, little "tommy or tracy" don't like a tripod spike in the foot etc

Really need to get there early before the shot spoilers arrive

curved wall in need of a photographer yes I do know this is a rubbish photo

That's one way to get to your wisdom teeth I suppose

That's quite an impressive curvy wall. Slightly less so, the photograph!
