Hiya,

Got a pentax I-10, takes great pics but when using in vid mode the playback on camera is fine but when i upload vid via sd card the video staggers, ie not smooth, got a class 10 sd card as avised by Pentax.

I use an Advent 6311 lappie to run pics.

Any help please, i am no techie head but can do simple stuff.

Have you tried updating the graphics drivers on your laptop?

Possibly, you have the camera set to record "best performance" on the card thus the sd card has a lot of data to record, which might explain the "lag". Either adjust the recording settings (if you are set on 3-star performance, drop it to 2-star), or consider a Class 16 sd card. Pretec link have a series of these cards, which offer quicker read/write speeds.

Also, if it's possible to update the firmware on this camera, try that too.

** I just had a look at your camera's specs... My guess is that your video card on the lappie is struggling, or you are probably playing back the video in WMV format, which I find to be unstable from time to time. If you have something like Adobe Premier Elements, try converting the video files to either MPEG-4, or AVI. On A desktop with a blu-ray burner, you could probably get a stable playback if you convert it to a Matroska video (MKV) file.
