Agreed, to an extent, but finding you have a massive dust fleck on your sensor AFTER you shoot a wedding (or insert suitable non-repeatable photo op here) is not very helpful.Better still, don't test at all and only clean your sensor if a dark speck or blob shows up on one of your normal photos.
Damn things always show up at the most inconvenient possible moment.
