How clean is clean enough K5 sensor

Having spent a lot of effort in cleaning the sensor of my K5 I've managed to remove all of the worst heavy black marks and am only left with a number of what look like feint oil stains, there were far worse oil stain marks when I started.

However after this effort I'm no longer able to make a impartial decision as to how clean is acceptably clean. Would someone please download (1.8M) the original file and examine the marks which I've circled and let me have your comments.

I think you shouldn't have tried to clean the sensor on your camera. You should have returned it to Pentax for a replacement. Now, if you try to have it replaced, since you attempted to clean it, an overzealous employee might say you caused the damage yourself using an improper technic/product.

Do you have a 'before' and 'after' shot? How did you clean it? Was the sensor exposed to dust and were the marks there from the outset?

I counted at least four more that where not marked by you. I am of the same mind as pentaxian450 and you should send the camera back. You may be charged now because of (as said) you attempted to clean it and that could be a problem in itself now.
I am not doing any more than the normal sensor clean on the camera settings. I usually have my camera services every year as well.
I too would like to see a 'before' shot to see if the marks where there from the outset.
I still would try to get the camera replaced but how far you tell what you did I leave up to you as, (like stated above), I would not have attempted any clean other then the camera has in its options. To much can go wrong to quick and at the end it may cost to much to have it set right in particular if the camera still under warranty.

When I last checked my sensor (which I have never attempted to clean) it had just one mark like yours. I decided that I could live with it; yours I wouldn't.

My camera is going to be exchanged anyway as the cold weather and experiments with a domestic fridge and a thermometer show that the top LCD switches off at 5 degrees C (41F) and below which isn't a particularly low temperature.

Another bit of top class service from SRS who didn't quibble even for a moment and offered to do a courier exchange. That I felt was a bit OTT when I am in London and I can get to Watford and back in an afternoon. But it's the thought that counts!

Thanks for the response, unfortunately I deleted the images after each cleaning session, which was stupid I know.

I don't think I'll have a problem with Pentax's local repair service as I've built up a good relationship with there Workshop Manager and in any case how will they know I've attempted to clean it if I don't talk

So after Christmas it goes back.
