Lidy, this last image is the best of the set, it has a nice balance and composition.
For me, it's a shame about the horse's head on the left being slightly out of focus. It's a strong image otherwise.

Prefer the last one. Nice composition.
But you could have increased the DOF by a smaller aperture. (Instead of 1/1000 at 5.6 I would perhaps used 1/250 at 11).

Thanks everybody. I know I could have/should have increased the aperture - was just too busy keeping an eye on the dogs who were VERY interested in the horses and trying to take pictures at the same time.
