Hello all.

New here (hmmm-was that a silly comment? oh well, wont be the first lol)

I am using a 35mm chinnon at the moment, still. Am looking to move to DSLR and want to keep my older lenses.

Speak to you all soon.

In the old days it was lots of love. Now in text speak it is Laugh Out Loud. Although there are other derivatives.

"lol" is an abbreviation for "Laughs out loud" it's used to convey the message that the previous sentance was meant to be funny.

There are lots of abbreviations used on forums, and while on the subject Ian I should also point out that typing in all capitals is regarded as "shouting" It is considered to be rude by many forum users.

If you come across an abbreviation a quick Google will get you the answer

EDIT: Arggggh!!! Sorry I edited my post halfway through but it seems I missed the first half of the message off, which was;

Welcome to the forum Ian (the first one)

Welcome to the forum Ian. We are on the whole a friendly and helpful lot. feel free to ask any questions - I'm sure someone here can answer them for you.

Cameraboy - Why not just welcome the new member and if you need to ask, without shouting (turns caps lock off!), what lol means - or look it up for yourself.

Oh, seemed to have caused controversy on my first post, hehe

Fatspider, it wasn't me shouting, I do have a little netiquette, even if I needed to google how to spell it

Thanks to all for the welcomes, I hope to get plenty of help, and give out as much as I can in return (I know nothing about photopgraphy)

Cameraboy, give me a shout if you need a translation ttfn

Indeed it wasn't, but apparently Cameraboy is also called Ian (at least according to his profile).

Welcome to the forum Ian, the easy use of old lenses is certainly one of the benefits of Pentax DSLRs.

Thanks very much petrochemist, I am looking at a few bodies on a certain website (camera bodies.) Will keep my eye open.
