first actual day out with camera in a long time and to a place i would not normally go to but was invited by a friend and actually quite enjoyed it. someting to do with having a like minded companion and not the wife who unfortunately does not understand the intricaces of photography a bit image heavy and have no idea what the flowers are, only the Water Lily and Rose.

Cracking set.
Have to agree with Chris, 4 and 12 are superb. The others are all good, but those 2 just stand out 👏👏👏

This is a lovely set from a wonderful location. I visited Hidcote several years ago and enjoyed wandering round the gardens with my camera. You did the right thing visiting with another photo enthusiast who shared your interest.

Lovely, vibrant set - you have a particular skill with flower shots that sets them apart from most

thanks for looking and all the comments. saw a youtube video on flowers coming out of the dark which was in a studio situation so i thought i would see if something similar could be done outside. made use of the preview facility ( which i usually forget we have) trying out various exposure settings to get what i wanted . lenses used were the HD Pentax DA 16-85mm F3.5-5.6 and Sigma DC EX 50-150mm f2.8 MKii APO HSM

4 and 12 are great indeed (I have a preference for 12 - there is more mystery to it). #2 also caught my eye, with it's opposition/integration of greenery and geometry. Good thing you went along with your friend!

Really like the isolated flower close ups in particular... 4, 6 and 12 for me...

Best

Hidcote is a wonderful place without question! The last one of the scabious is super.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
