Hello everyone, I'm coming to you from Ontario Canada. I am on my 2nd Pentax, a K 30. Just an entry level camera, but I like it.

Welcome to the forum!

Great country for photographers is Canada, especially if you have a WR Pentax!

Hello Carolin, welcome.

I had a play with my cousins K30, nice camera. Mainly use the K-S2 myself.

Ansel Adams — 'The single most important component of a camera is the twelve inches behind it!' True that.

No such thing as an entry level Pentax! What you have is far better than the state of the art pro DSLRs from ten years ago when they were raving about 12mp and 1600 iso, so enjoy.

And as for Ansel Adams, I wonder if he would still think that if he had been able to get hold of a modern DSLR instead of lugging that heavy wooden plate camera about!

Hi Caroline, had my K30 for 5 years and still love it, keep looking at K3's and one day I will take the plunge but I will keep the K30 'till it falls to pieces. Welcome.
Regards
Steve

The K-30 is a great camera - my "go to" for most shooting "events"!

However, but (and I feel that I must say this!) it (and its later K-50/K-70 "siblings"!) has a very well-known "problem" called the "aperture block failure" which can FUBAR it. Please check the US pentaxforums.com site to find out and understand what might happen (just had my K-30 "permanently fixed" to "hopefully" solve the issue for good).
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)
