Hi from Caz

Hi all, this is my first post apart from loading a picture to the gallery about 3mins ago. I've been interested in photography for some years but only moved to digital about 3yrs ago. I used a Minolta 35mm for many years & before that I had a Zenith. Always been a bit of a budget enthusiast. But when my husband bought me a little SONY I was hooked on digital. I then bought myself a K10D & part exchanged my Minolta for a new pentax lens. Now I love photogaphy all over again. I'd love to spend more time on this hobby but I don't always get the time. We like to go on long walks, 15Km is a short walk for us so I sometimes get to combine a walk with a few photo's. I have a leaning towards lanscapes because they encourage me to use a tripod & take my time. I also like to take pictures of people. Not portaits but candid, real life. I tend not to mess with the phot's once taken but I might take a look at PhotoShop in time as I feel that as long as you don't go overboard editing would be just like using as darkroom with the mess. I look forward hearing what people think of my first sunset in the gallery, but it is my first digital sunset (I am willing to learn). I've called it Embers of the day. Caz

Thank you ttk. I've my Pentax a while now. Nearly bought a Nikon but the rugged build of the K10D & the grip worked better for me. Most of the shops I went to wanted to sell me a small, light camera. One even said that the K10D isn't a camera for girls. Can you belive that? I guess it was having a Zenith that got be used to prefering something with a bit of weight. I think that sometimes too light can be less stable. We travel a lot & having a go anywhere SLR that I don't have to hide away if it tips it down is a bonus. I only stumbled on this forum by chance. It's nice to be welcomed.Caz
