Hi everyone

I have just got my K-5 and become a member of Pentax User Plus. I am not new to photography as I had a Canon 5D prior to this.

Is there any good advice / links for getting going with the K-5? I have previously used the Blue Crane DVD's but notice there are non available for Pentax. Are there any other video tutorials as youtube also seemed a bit sparce.

I am also looking to get a Metz 44 AF-1 flash unit when funds allow. Does this flash perform well I know it doesn't have HSS but will I be able to use it with my M42 lens collection I have recently inherited.

Many Thanks
RCA

Hi Dave

Welcome to the forum and the wonderful world of Pentax.

You may find this worth a look in terms of getting to grips with the K5 link

Can't offer an opinion on the Metz as I use a Pentax flash

Hello Dave, welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll find the advice available here much more valuable than a dvd, especially as you're already familiar with using a DSLR.

Hi Dave, I saw something the other day about K5 tutorials - I'll see if I can find it again but I'm sure Google will be your friend in this respect and that others here may have positive / negative experience re/ DVDs to share.

If you can stretch to a Metz 50 (or the older 48 - basically the same thing I believe) then you'll have a superb flash that'll do everything you want, including HSS.

Nice link and options here : link

Look forward to seeing some shots !
