Hi everyone, Was looking for a first DSLR for mountaineering and landscape photos and intially going to stick to Canon or maybe Nikon but found a virtually brand new K-m with twin lens and lowe pro bag on ebay for a bargain so i'm giving Pentax a go! Have heard a lot of good things about them as well. K-m seems good but boy does it eat batteries!!! I'm guessing i'm missing a trick with that by just sing Engergisers? ? John

Firmware in NOT an upgrade to the software.

The Firmware is the embedded code or software installed in Read Only Memory (ROM) that drives the camera. It can be updated to a complete new version using the process outlined on the Pentax website.
