tbh my main insentive is to sell some of my late dads stuff so i can fund a new camera to start my own hobby but i have no idea what most of his stuff is worth so im going to fish around and see what i can find from you guys

And before you think about selling, most older cameras and lenses in good condition are totally usable. There are many members on here who still shoot film and (myself included) are not about to stop.
Tell us what you have now. The camera(s) should have the model on the body and the lenses (normally) have most of the information on the front. Write it all down (even if it doesn't make much sense) and we will be able to tell you what you have.
