As long as it is a K mount, it should! If it's a M42, than an adapter will fix that (and an M42 adapter means you can use your old lenses with any particular modern DSLR camera brand). Welcome to the forums by the way.
The K-r is a fantastic camera, superb low light, and it easily has the best bang for your buck in its price class. Although actually handling the camera in your hands will be the best advise I can give.
Looking forward to what you come up with!

I tried both Canon and Nikon but they felt plasticy - the Canon more so, then when I held my Kr I knew I had made the right choice.

I know at least one member of this forum who will honestly say he chose Pentax because of the handling (a Pentax istDL IIRC), Pentax DSLRs are intuitive and easy to use.
Now you know two - I handled a couple of Olympus models (got thrown out of the event :lol, a few Canon's, two from Nikon and then the K10D - and now I have the K10DI know at least one member of this forum who will honestly say he chose Pentax because of the handling (a Pentax istDL IIRC), Pentax DSLRs are intuitive and easy to use.
I use m42 lenses and pkm/pka lenses - for the m42's it is best to stick with the Pentax adapter not one of the flaky paint knock off ones - so I am told.
