HI - I have returned to the fold :)

Hi my full name is Walter Hampson and I have just returned to the Pentax fold. My first DSLR was a Pentax *istD, which I still have. My last ones were the K10D and K200D, again I still have them and used them. However I went to Canon/Nikon when I could not get a Pentax fit 150-500 zoom. Last month I had a disaster regarding my professional Nikon D700 it got wet from rain and died (thrrrp). I used the insurance money and purchased a K50 Zoom kit plus Sigma 150-500 zoom, I followed this up with a purchase of the K5-II. Having used both cameras last week in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland amid heavy rain I am well impressed with them and the results obtained. This was taken with the K5-II and Sigma 28-300 zoom.

Good grief - Apologies to all, the attached image on my original message was taken with the K-50 and Tamron 28-300 lens and not the K5-II

It looks like you made the right decision to return to Pentax. I've never had any problem in heavy rain with my weather resistant Pentaxes.

Hi David, thanks for the welcome. I hope I have as I'm still shocked about the K700 incident. Yes this is Loch Broom as seen from the Harbour/Ferry Terminal at Ullapool, it is really daybreak not sunrise I took it as we waited for the ferry to Lewis.
