Help with RAW

I am just starting with RAW, My Raw photos automaticly go to Pentax Lab, they will not open in Photoshop CS, how do i get them to open in CS ...do i have to do something in Pentax Lab first, i took 2 pics one in Raw and one in Jpeg, when downloading them from my Pentax DL the RAW went to Pentax Lab and the Jpeg one to I photo where all my Pics go when taken in Jpeg, no tech jargen please, i use a Mac.

Depends upon what camera you are using Gordon.

If it's the K10D then you can't open RAW PEF in CS at present however if you save as RAW DNG then you can.

Or edit them in photo lab and then save as TIFF

Also try the varios threads about Silkypix which also answers many of your questions.

Your photos automatically open in Pentax Lab because that is how (no doubt inadvertently) you have set the file associations.

Look up File Associations in Help to see how to change the default behaviour.
