I have a K100D Super and have been given a Sigma 28-300MM Aspherical IF 3.5_6.3. When fitted to the camera I can not adjust the aperture. Can this be overcome in any way?

if its the same as my k20d you have to enable the arpeture ring in the settings menu.

Normally you set the lens to the "A" position and adjust the aperture with the rear e-dial on the camera
(Trying to adjust the aperture ring on the lens is far less convenient as you have to perform "stop-down metering". Just use the "A" position!)

Thanks for info. Lens has no "A" on it, this may well account for the display just blinking in aperture display. I take it that this lens is not compatable with camera.

toyman,

The lens will work fine on that camera. You just have to change one setting in the custom setup menu.

I have this lens and have never had any problems with adjusting the aperture and have used it on my *istD, K10 and K20. No problems whatsoever. Great lens, I keep it as a spare as my wife uses it now and again.
