Help Me Identify this Asahi Pentax Case

Posted 24/03/2020 - 16:28 Link
Found this small Asahi Pentax logo'd case in a box of photo gear at a thrift shop. I am unsure what is should be holding due to its odd wedge-like shape. It is 3-1/2 inches in diameter, 1 inch high at one side and 2 inches high on the opposite side. Any ideas what this once contained???

A light meter (that attaches to the prism) for an M42 Asahi Pentax body - that would be my guess

Hard to judge the scale, but I am not sure it would fit.

I have something similar, but not tapered like this one. It was helpfully labelled by the previous owner.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

That prism mounted light meter seems like a possibility.

The case dimensions are:
3-1/2" diameter
1" high at the short side
2"high at the longer side

Both the round and square light meters fit in this case.

As you can see, the deeper side is to make room for the part that fits over the eyepiece.

That would probably fit my meter. The shallower side would need to be closer to 1.25".
