HELP! (with SilkyPix)

Hi everyone, I just need pointing in the right direction on something regarding the Pentax Digital Camera Utility 4 (Silkypix). I always shoot in RAW (DNG) only and save my pics from Silkypix to a jpeg, using the 'Save As' option. However, I have noticed than when I do this, the saved jpeg is not retaining white balance adjustments that I make in Silkypix, it is reverting back to the white balance as per when the picture was shot with the camera. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? How do I get the jpeg to store with the desired white balance settings?

Are you talking about Silkypix, or the Pentax bundled software? Although the latter is supplied by the company that makes Silkypix, they are different things.

Hi George, the Pentax bundled software is a version of Silkypix - it is this I am referring to. Hope this helps.

No, it doesn't help. What you have is PDCU4, not Silkypix. There are differences.

In Silkypix, you don't "save to a JPEG". You "develop" the image using options from the Development menu, and Silky then produces a JPEG based on your adjustments to the RAW image.

I suspect that you are somehow skirting round this process, and simply making a JPEG copy of the original RAW file.

Given that I have PDCU4, not Silkypix, how do I save to jpeg the adjustments I make to a RAW image?

Hi all, please forget my previous questions. What I am doing is correct as it works perfectly on my laptop. It must be something on my other PC that is not correct. In PDCU4 you simply carry out your RAW adjustments, then save the image to a jpeg or tiff file.
