I could try cloning a copy of my disc, if it helps. If it's a success, I can PM you for an address to send it to, or if you are heading to Africa via LHR, we could perhaps meet up since I live close to the airport.

Your problem may be that the only account with that name was called Polo_3 - is that one yours?

If you search thus site..... somewhere there's a thread
that tells you what to name a CD or SD Card in order for it
to accept the update without the original. It seems the
update is complete and the installer just checks the
volume name.

Thanks Steven, I'll keep it in mind if Algernon's suggestion does not work.I could try cloning a copy of my disc, if it helps. If it's a success, I can PM you for an address to send it to, or if you are heading to Africa via LHR, we could perhaps meet up since I live close to the airport.

I'll start a search and see what I can find - if anyone knows exactly where it is that would be useful. If you search thus site..... somewhere there's a thread

Thanks ... the link SD /USB option looks the best as I don't have and CD burning software installed yet. rebuilding is a long process when there are possibly 10 of GB of applications to install and over 100 GB of data.

I use the freeware Imgburn now for all burning.
Only takes about 15 secs to install

I'll have a look but may not install anything! I am being very cautious as I need the PC working for when I go south ... and after the problems I have had, I am not taking any chances. Just the key apps I need, the data I will need.

Has all worked fine ...
So there is another source for anyone else who goes hunting for it:
Just rename an SD card or USB stick as S-SW90 and when the install asks you to install the CD in an optical drive, just hit Yes. The device can have anything on it - does not matter.
I have also downloaded and installed update 4.35, if I can get 4.40 I will update to that too.
Thanks

Have finally had a reply from Tech Support - for what it is worth!
At one time it was so easy call someone in Langley and get assistance, but now it is either a premium rate 'call or a long wait to get an email response that was not worth waiting for.

So, what is provided with new cameras? There is no release 5 ... Unfortunately we no longer have the software disks and we cannot provide you with another copy.

I have had a major PC problem and had to remove applications to try and resolve it. I am now rebuilding the PC prior to a trip to Africa next week.
I have tried to re-install the versions of PENTAX Digital Camera Utility 4. I checked they were there before I removed the applications but they will not install without the original V4 software - a crazy idea. Unfortunately I cannot locate the disks or images of the V4 software V3 yes but not V4.
Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?
Thanks
