Hello.
Long time Pentax user since the 70s.
I finally ordered a white K-X after a lot of deliberation. Have a K10D and use it with my FA77 and DA40 mainly. Looked long and hard at the K-7 but finally went for a K-X with the following aspects in mind:
1. Image quality - taken in by the reputed quality of the K-x's high ISO
2. Ability to fine tune the AF by lens type on the K-7 was important but overall, couldn't justify the extra cost
3. Build quality - K-7's ruggedness vs. the lightness of the K-X in conjunction with the DA40.
Ultimately decided to hang onto the K10 and wait and see what Pentax might or might not do reference it's top of the line camera. I couldn't justify the K-7 with the K-X in the current lineup.
Still in two minds. Did I make the right decision?
Hope to report back soon on first impressions.
