For a portraiture Lens I would advise either 70 or 80 mm Lens, you definitely do NOT need a polariser for portraiture. A UV filter is useful to protect the lens, Hoyer make one called "A Lens Protector". You do not necessarily need an Ultra Violet filter for portrait work. I notice you have a 35 - 80mm Lens, but suspect its not fast enough for your indoor requirements, but at the 80mm end, your Lens would be fine with flash.

Just noticed....I have the filters on my 300mm zoom if I needed them for outdoor shots.

Well chaps....I'm not going to bore you with my amateur opinion on this fabulous, well made, quite focusing lens....the owner of our local camera shop refered to it as a real lens...but I've just re-discovered my camera.....what if I set the contrast, a faster shutter speed (bit windy today) to stop the cherry blossum moving, or may be dial in a low f setting.....etc etc...oh that's what causes under exposure.....oh doesn't that look sharp......having fun....

How please of the DA* 55 are you so far I'm also looking at it but I don't know yet, I also want a 50-135 you see but don't have the cash for both
For outdoor shooting and flowers a polarizer might be usefull.
It makes the sky more blue and the gras more green, I use it all the time with my macro's also for that purpose.
If you're shopping for a pol get a good one though, B+W is my recommendation with RMC to protect the filter.

I'll have a better opinion developed over the next couple of weeks. But my initial thoughts are that you already have good zooms and a macro and that you will be impressed with the DA 55's prime lens' performance.
