I used a Pentax ME Super for years, loved it. Pleyed around with a point and click digital for a while and finally took the plunge and bought a Pentax K-m. It's great for what I need.

One question you may be able to help with is...

I have a few lenses that fit the Me Super and I wondered if they would work OK with the K-m. I fitted an Optomax 300mm f5.5 to the K-m, switched to manual, set a shutter speed and aperture but couldn't take a pic. What am I doing wrong or will it just not work with the old lens?

Thanks. K

You need to set the "using aperture ring" custom function to "permitted" and then you will be able to use M and Av modes with stop-down metering. (If the lens has an "A" setting on the aperture ring just set it to thisd and use the lens with the camera controlling the aperture.)
There are a few threads that cover this if you do a forum search, but if you still have questions by all means ask again.

Welcome!
Best regards, John

Welcome to the forum, you're not alone with manual lenses, a lot of members use them, myself included.

Thanks for your quick responses. I really love the 300mm and can't wait to get using it again.

John this lens doesn't have an A setting, but the other lenses I have do. Thanks again for the info.
