Hi Mat and welcome to the forum

The twin lens kit will cover a lot of situations for you and the 18-55 in particular is not a bad lens.

As Spider says it seems like a good price.

Hi Mat

Im a beginner and bought this kit in the summer and have had immense fun with it so far. Its a fantastic purchase. As for price. You may want to look at Currys who also offer it at £399, but if ordering online. Enter discount code REESAVE5 and you will recieve a 5% discount and free delivery. Making it approx £370 cant be bad...

G'day and welcome - I've found my Kx to be a very usable camera. Just watch the highlights - use negative Ev to minimise 'blown' highlights.

And visit the Currys site via Quidco (or similar affiliate) and receive cashback too.

If you are after a long zoom, you may be better going for the 55-300. I bought the standard twin kit, but have quickly opted for the longer 55-300. I should have bought it at the outset as part of the kit

Welcome aboard

no havnt bought it yet i gotta wait until xmas eve as its being paid for with my xmas bonus.

i prob will want a longer lens later on but at the moment i want to concentrate on macro as i love what can be done.

im not sure what those lenses are good for that come in a kit, im hoping that one will be suitable for taken some good shots of my kids.

i am out practising with another camera at the moment its a fugi film finepix s1900 got it really cheap, and gave it to my 7 year old daughter as she likes taking pictures, but as i said ive been out with her trying to get used to spotting a good pic.

what are those lenses good for that come in the kit, im gonna be looking for a good macro lens soon maybe a months time and was thinking about the sigma 105 or the tamron 90 not sure if they fit pentax or can u suggest another goood one.

i will post up some pics when ive got my kx and i look forward to you guys helping me out in the future
