Hi everyone.

I've just joined the forum and thought I'd introduce myself.

Been using Pentax for many years now and as well as my 2 LX bodies, I also have a *istds as I thought I may as well get used to digital alongside my love of film photography. In addition I have a good range of lenses, from 15mm to 500mm, both Pentax and Sigma, plus other accessories.

I tend to concentrate on wildlife & macro, but also enjoy landscape and abstract. Just about the only thing I have ever had much interest in is portraits.

Just an amateur enjoying myself and looking forward to the anticipated new DSLR due hopefully later this year and more advanced than the *istd range.

Hope to enjoy learning and contributing where I can on the forum.

Ha ha, Best put the record straight quickly regarding my forum name.
I's the one I have used for some time, but is nothing to do with a certain rock band, or in any way religous.
It stems from when my motorcyling friends called each other names relating to their bikes & at the time I was riding a Yamaha 1000 exup 'genesis' model and so became known as genesis phil.
Don? I am intrigued and with a poor memory (must be age!) I am wondering where I may know you from.

Silly me - I've just realised, with help, what Don was saying. LOL.
Forgot to answer Liam's question. I work almost entirely outside and have no studio or anything like that. I do, however, have a small back garden that is akin to a lilliputian nature reserve, with a tiny pond and plants/trees to attract wildlife and even a makeshft hide for photographing birds that I feed all year round and try to make a little sanctuary for them to visit/nest.
Now then, to my current bike (on which I do at times struggle with my photo gear!) It's a CBR1000rr fireblade (2004) with scorpion can and double bubble screen, otherwise standard. Oh and it's red.

My 1st copy of the Pentax user magazine arrived today and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading it. May well send in a submission or two for the next gallery/comp etc...although I'm very critical of my own pics and will have difficulty making a choice I feel worthy.

As it happens a little exhibition/showing of my own local wildlife images is running alongside the prestigious exhibition, as the centre organisors were keen to show that we have our own interesting wildlife on the Fylde Coast and kindly asked me to contribute. I was a bit reluctant at first to be shown against such illustrious company, but thought, hey what the heck. LOL

So if anyone is planning a trip with the kids to the Pleasure Beach etc.. (1/4 mile further up) then please feel free to pop into the centre for a coffee, look around and view the exhibitions.

All my images taken of course with Pentax gear, whereas the main exhibition is dominated by Canon and Nikon.
