Nice shot. I might have been tempted to use a reflector to bounce some of the sunlight up into the flower (a sheet of white paper works well!). Looks nice and sharp where it matters, however.

thanks womble! i didn't have such a reflector! So it's just sunlight as it reached the flower!

I'll second Kris' coments. as for the reflector, as daft as it sounds you can sometimes get away with using your hand, of course you also have to be a contortionist

If you want just to direct a little bit of sunlight into a small area your hand will do OK in the absence of anything else reflective. I have used everything from an open book to cardboard from a sandwich box.
