HDR Duck

Pseudo HDR duck done with one raw file in Photomatix.

Taken with the DA* 60-250mm f4.

Wow, stunning! Wonderful detail and the reflections are eye popping.

That looks pretty impressive Mike, not too over done which is the type of HDR I prefer.

Good work, Mike. Goes to show that HDR doesn't have to be so in your face. Have to admit, though, that sometimes I like this over-the-top HDR.

I have always held the opinion that HDR'ing one image produced excellent results. This shot proves it. Superb image Mike. Another PPG entry perhaps?

When I read the rules for the last time there was a line saying not to do to much post processing.

There is now HDR in the list of categories:

Photos must be selected for one or more of the following categories: Abstract, B&W, Cityscape/Urban, Documentary, Glamour/Fashion, HDR, In-Camera Effects, Landscapes, Lifestyle, Macro, Nature, Portraiture, Sports/Action, Travel, Food.

Photographs should not be overly manipulated with filters and effects unless done in-camera and loaded to the in-camera effects category. Some dodging and burning to reveal an image is allowed, however, it is not acceptable to move around pixels or add or remove elements. Cropping is allowed.

Since the new cameras have HDR on board you can use that but you can't use HDR software on your PC it seems but how do you control that?
Unless they don't count HDR as an overly manipulation, but it's hard to see where the line is...
I hope you see my point, i'm not saying it's right or wrong though, just that it's a bit strange.
