A harvest mouse. Hoping I get the chance to get some more.
Pentax K-1, Tamron 70-200 and a bit of fill flash. First outing with the Tamron, and second outing with the K-1 (after yesterday)

Blimey that's good... The symmetry of tail, leaves and stalks is really something... First class...

Great capture. I always amazed by people who can take such photos of these beauties considering I can't even find them!

Super shot - the sort of thing I certainly wish I was able to accomplish !
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

A great image Alan. I can only imagine what the mouse thought as the flash fired. "what the fl*sh was that"?

Best regards

Wonderful. Love the balance between the tail and the stem of the dandelion.

I vaguely remember reading a long time ago that some animals aren't too bothered by flash as they assume that it is lightning.

Of course, the idea may be wrong or outdated.

Some people call me 'strange'.
I prefer 'unconventional'.
But I'm willing to compromise and accept 'eccentric'.

Just magical Alan, a beautiful image.

What are your early thoughts on the K-1?

Very nice,

As per David, I'd be interested on your thoughts of the K1

Thanks for all the feedback. All very much appreciated. She wasn't bothered in the slightest by the flash, but she didn't stay still for long.

As to the K-1. Too early to give an opinion. Nothing I can say I dislike. I have used the K-5iis rather than the K-3 when I have wanted to up the ISO, or where I have wanted maximum dynamic range. So, the K-1 will definitely take the place of the K-5iis. Only time will tell how much it will replace the K-3 which I use when I need maximum reach. The probable better AF will be a plus when weighing up the two.
