hello all , hope you are all well, the camera is now officially going for back to samsung for repair or replacement, the camera crashed on me again yesterday, and after looking through the images of my thailand trip, 45 gigs worth of images ,lets just say 35 gig of them , they are not of acceptable quality, colour rendition totally wrong. Images are very soft just not acceptable, so think im going to look for a new k20d in the meen time

You'll have to look pretty hard for a new K20

Well hopefull the camera will be replaced, just knowing that it was faulty from day 1 makes me sick. It drained 2 batteries in about 30 mins, then crashed. As well as continualey crashing and needing to remove the battery to have use of the camera again. Just need to get lenses checked as well now grrr

Been given the run around already, samsung autherised repair centre told me on thursday, "yup its deffinatley faulty we need to order parts and that was it, call tomorrw and we can tell you time scale,"

so I called today, and then got pushed from pillar to post, then eventually spoke to correct repeir centre and advised, they reflashed the firmware and now its all ok!

"uh i have done that 4 times already" i explained, then i was told i had done it wrong and so forth, lets face it nothing hard about flasing firmare is there!

then was spoken to quite rudly and basically told if i have a problem with what they have said go to samsung

so that i did, my case has been escilated and samsung advised me to call them on monday morning , so i am more than happy to do that

hello George. I actually bought the samsung from dixons tax free from gatwick airport last year.

Surely they would just tell me to send the camera direct to samsung, or would they look at it.

I am a tad confused pureley because when I purchased it, they told me they were selling them off cheap, simply because they are no longer stocking samsung dslr.

The camera should be here on Monday, so after I test the camera again, I need to call samsung back and update them, I think I will call dixons as well

In the first instance, the responsibility lies with the supplier, in the UK at least.

Surely the supplier it was bought from is irrelevant, since the OP's problem is with Samsung's repairers who would have been doing the repair regardless of where the camera was originally purchased?
