Don, lovely Australian flora! I prefer the first, however they both have a background that is difficult to use as an effective contrast with/for the flowers.

I've had a go at the first jpg, with limited results:

If you had the chance, try re-shooting these great flowers against a different background (eg get down low and use the sky?)

Good luck!

Slightly darker is good, but I do like the background as it is.

The image is quite attractive so it depends on whether it fits in with the overall look wanted for the calendar. Good luck, hope you're successful!

Hi Don,

I have taken the liberty of photoshopping both of the above images.

In this one I have tried to emulate the Orten effect in an effort to enhance the flower

In the second I just used the colour select tool and tweeked the Hue to change the beige to a green

I admit I have only done this quickly and both could use a little refinement, so if you like the results let me know and I will type up a bit of a description for you.

Let me know what you think

Regards

Thanks Paul, I do prefer the second background, I don't have photo shop, only light-room 3( where I can change the background)just paint shop pro.

We have a clear sunny day here so I might go and try again.
C&C welcome.

I like both iBerg's version and pnjmcc's first version. Very different effects but both are striking.
